Q1 2021 Performance of Carpooling Apps in Brazil on iOS

In the first quarter of 2021, the carpooling and ridesharing sector on iOS in Brazil has seen varied performance across top applications. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers a glimpse into how these apps have fared in terms of downloads and user engagement.

Uber - Request a ride, despite showing no revenue, maintained a strong presence with downloads starting at 80K in the last week of December and seeing a downward trend to 44K by the end of March. Weekly active users began at 1.59M and experienced a gradual decrease, ending at 1.18M.

BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus also reported no revenue, with downloads peaking at 21K in late December and dipping to around 7.6K by March's end. The app's weekly active users initially stood at 102K and saw a slight fluctuation, finishing the quarter on a high note with 88.8K active users.

inDrive. Save on city rides showed a consistent pattern in downloads, starting at roughly 14K and ending the quarter with over 8K. Its weekly active users saw an initial dip from 185K to around 144K in late January, followed by a rise to 189K in early March before settling at 162K.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver commenced the quarter with 5.2K downloads and concluded with about 5K, indicating a relatively stable interest among users. The app's weekly active users started at 65.8K, peaked at 76.9K in mid-March, and then dropped to 66.2K.

Cabify had the lowest download numbers among the top apps, beginning with 1.7K and decreasing to 1.3K by the quarter's end. The app's active users numbered at 50.6K in late December, experienced minor fluctuations, and ended the period with 43.1K weekly active users.
